Healing and Empowerment for Survivors of FGM / Gender Based Violence
What is Tree of Life (ToL)?
The Tree of Life (ToL) is a survivor led trauma empowerment 1 day programme that offers a safe space for women who have experienced female genital mutilation (FGM) and other forms of Gender Based Violence to find healing, build community, and reclaim their power. It uses storytelling and metaphors to build resilience and reframe negative experiences.
TOL empowers women to share their struggles, support each other, and create a positive future.

ToL is run by Co-funders of FGM. Set in Kenya by Sadia Hussain, and in Somalia by Ifrah Ahmed, they help survivors to become activists.
ToL workshop happens after the Born Perfect Caravan in every African country. This one day training provides survivors the tools to become advocates of FGM.
