Our secret weapon is a giant FGM abandonment Caravan– the Born Perfect Women’s Caravan with: musicians, religious leaders, doctors, politicians, live film screenings and singers. “No village left behind.”
We take it village by village, igniting local media radio blitz and community gathered as we pass. All broadcasting and performing from the back of trucks stunning villages and towns where over 90 % of girls are still mutilated. Musicians come second only to religious leaders in convincing people to abandon FGM practices.
We follow the Born Perfect Women’s Caravan with unrelenting ad slots every month on local radio and public meetings in the villages reinforcing the Born Perfect Caravan message – that FGM must end now.
And their results are extraordinary:
94% who saw the Caravan pledged not to cut their daughters.
